The We Cancerve Movement, Inc.
Bringing swift solutions to children in sad situations because happiness shouldn't have to wait!

ABOUT OUR SHOW
Hosted by co-created Zack Gwiazda, 16, each episode introduces our viewers to youth from Maryland and beyond who are making a difference in their communities. We'll see them volunteer at events supporting local shelters, host events for children in orphanages and group homes, and raise money for pediatric cancer patients. We'll also learn about the importance of community service and how it can make a positive impact on the world.

On the Move with We Cancerve is a great way for families to learn about the importance of community service and to inspire young people to get involved. We hope you'll tune in here, and on Harford TV Fridays at 7 p.m. on Armstrong channel 7 and HD 101, Comcast channel 21 and HD 1084, and Verizon channel 31 in Harford County. The show will also be available online, for 24/7/365 access, at http://hcn.viebit.com.

Healthy & Hearty Beef Stew
Gloria's
In this episode, learn how to make hearty and healthy beef stew from We Cancerve Board Member Gloria Park, age 14. She shows us how to stock a complete meal with vegetables an affordable pack of meat. The dish can cook on low while kids are doing their homework or chores! Check it out.
S1, Episode 1: In this premiere episode, we take you on a journey to the Bel Air Farmer's Market where you see local vendors show off some of the most exciting and delicious foods from our great community. It's part of our featured segment "Zack Around Town" hosted by Zack Gwiazda, who our founder Grace Callwood named as chair of our all-youth board of advisors. In fact, it's the only episode she helps host with Zack! Earlier in the episode, Gloria Park, one of our board members, teaches us how to make a healthy, affordable and delicious chicken dish. It's perfect for kids to make for their siblings and parents! Natalie Deitz, another board member, then tells us all about how a local sports team co-sponsored a comic book craft kit event for hospitalized kids. We put together kits to bring a bit of happiness to children in the hospital. Check out our first episode!
Episode 3: Go with us to the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore where our team prepares a meal for 80 people. That is: critically-ill children being treated at area hospitals and their families. Joined by Celebrity Chef Stacia Epps, our team made a stir fry meal and Chef Stacia's signature Thai Basil Lemonade! Delicious!
S2, Episode 5: Travel with us Songhor, Kenya to the Achego Children's Centre to meet our new friends. We Cancerve Advocate Mr. A. Paul Abuto hosted us at his home in Cecil County, Md., while we talked to our friends over video call in Africa. Our Founder Grace Callwood joined us from her college dorm room in Washington, DC! In this episode, you'll see us talk with Kenyan students and their teacher early one Saturday morning. We then enjoyed an authentic Kenyan meal and sorted clothes and books we shipped to Kenya for the youth to enjoy.
Episode 2: Stevenson University students quickly realized that some of their peers enrolled in college without regular support of families. Around the country, about 8% of college students - or 1.5 million college students - in 2023 experienced homelessness. Only 2%-10% of former foster children enroll in four-year colleges and when they do, they worry about support many other c-college students enjoy without much thought like care packages, funds for school events or the ability to return home for long weekends or school breaks. Check out how Stevenson students teamed with our all-youth team to help youth in our community as part of their community service project.
S2, Episode 4: OMG! What is Zack doing? Why is he making that face? And why is he wearing a hair net? Well, you have to check out our summer 2024 episode so see where he takes the camera crew this time during his featured segment "Zack Around Town." You're not gonna want to miss this one!
S2, Episode 6: Check out another episode of our popular children's TV show. Area elementary and middle schools are watching it in their classrooms and talking about We Cancerve as part of their service learning curriculum. We hope you enjoy this episode.
