Boutique for teen girls in foster care

The We Cancerve Movement, Inc. opened La Magnifique Boutique in 2016 at Arrow Crossroads, a group home for teen girls in foster care in Bel Air, Md. The boutique provides a unique, free shopping experience for teen girls who need clothes appropriate for work and worship. At La Magnifique Boutique, teen girls in foster care can shop for free for clothes, shoes and accessories including purses, jewelry and belts. The boutique also contains specialty items such as prom and homecoming dresses, winter coats and spring jackets, and umbrellas.

To date, more than 300 teen girls from at least three group homes have benefitted from We Cancerve's La Magnifique Boutique.

The boutique is a two-room space converted from a former storage facility onsite at the group home.  We Cancerve volunteers manage monthly boutique maintenance, and quarterly inventory updates. We accept only new donations seasonally.

In 2022, We Cancerve and Arrow Crossroads expanded the reach of our boutique by working with the Harford County Public Schools' Pupil Personnel Workers who identify homeless and foster teens who need prom and homecoming attire. We Cancerve services young men through donations received from Jos. A. Bank and Menswearhouse.
